In Year 1 we are curious and inquisitive learners who always seek to know more. Over the year, we begin to gain a greater understanding of the world around us and how the past before us has shaped the world we live in today. 

We are also phonics heroes and are always on the look out for our new phonemes in our reading and writing as we know that these will help us become confident and fluent readers and writers.  

Above all, we are determined and confident. We know that together we can achieve anything.
