Thrive

Welcome to our Thrive page!

Here you can find out more information about the Thrive Approach, as well as access activity ideas and resources that you can use at home.

The Thrive Approach is a dynamic developmental approach to working with children and young people that supports their emotional and social wellbeing as the foundation to improve learning.  Thrive separates children’s emotional development into 6 strands: Being, Doing, Thinking, Power and Identity, Skills and Structure and Interdependence.  Although these stages are consecutive, we all revisit each developmental strands throughout life as our stress regulation system is tested with life’s trials! Children’s relationships, as well as their repeated experiences are big contributors to how their stress regulation system reacts and responds to perceived threats.

At the very heart of Thrive is children’s basic needs: to feel safe, to feel special and to have their needs met. With these foundations, children’s emotional and social wellbeing can be built to prepare happy, resilient and aspirational adults of our future.
