Last Friday and today we have hosted our family breakfasts to celebrate the special people in our children's lives.
Groups of children across school have been busy making chocolate rice crispy cakes to donate to the Bilsthorpe Emergency Team, who are putting on a bake sale to raise money to create an Easter Egg hunt for children in the village.

We finished off celebrating World Book Day by inviting parents and carers into school to share a story with their child/children. There was a range of fiction and non-fiction texts to explore and share.
Before half term the children took part in Safer Internet Day 2024. EYFS/KS1 completed a range of activities that identified lots of ways to keep ourselves safe online. KS2 engaged in an online lesson on AI technology where they were exposed to a range of digital careers.
Year 2 have been learning and reciting the poem BEwARE! by James Carter from his poetry book Zim Zam Zoom! Year 2 are going to be learning features of a Kennings poem and are going to have a go at writing their own.
Years 1, 4 and 5 have been lucky enough this week to work with an Artist called Jane to learn and develop a range of art techniques, which they can apply across a range of media. The children had a fantastic time and were proud to show off their masterpieces. What a great opportunity.
The Digital Leaders at BFHA have received their new badges today. Leadership instils confidence and helps children solve problems creatively, work in a team, and work collaboratively with others. Leadership gives children many opportunities to develop responsibility. Our Digital Leaders are responsible for keeping our computer room tidy and ensuring their peers use the technology available to them sensibly and appropriately.
Pupils at Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy helped plant three native oak trees at a Harron Homes development site in Bilsthorpe Chase.
Today our wonderful year 3 pupils got 'lost in books' during their visit to Inspire Bilsthorpe Library. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful library on our doorstep.
