Is it better to fit in or stand out?
Key driver - Art
Key concepts: structure, expression, empathetic understanding, interpretation, communication
This term we will be looking at the painting 'Bathers at Asnieres' by Georges Seurat for inspiration.
Art - We will be focussing on colour and how they are used in a piece of art. We will be researching the work of an artist and creating our own version of the painting using paint, charcoal and pastel.
Music - We will be looking at composing simple pieces of music and recording our composition with notations. We will use the painting as inspiration for our music.
Science - We will be learning about animals including humans. We will learning about what we need to stay healthy and live a healthy lifestyle and will also look at animals and their habitats. We will explore lifecycles and food chains.

In year 2 we will be learning all about the Great Fire of London and Samuel Pepys. We will look at where this fits on a timeline of other historic events and the impact it had on the way we live our lives today. We will compare it to Grenfell and consider how accidents happen and if it is always someones fault.
