Here at Bilsthorpe FHA we are passionate about ensuring every child has the best start to their school journey. Our children will be exposed to a range of activities and learning experiences to enhance their development and curiosity within the world around them. We are limitless learners with investigation, and exploration at the heart of our learning through the curiosity approach. We work hard to promote independence with our children by providing them with open ended experiences to engage with activities however they wish. We strive to make learning memorable, engaging and purposeful where the children have endless opportunities to achieve and succeed.

Marvellous Me!

This term our project question is: "What exactly makes you, you?". We will be exploring who we are as individuals, who our families are, and how to take care of ourselves. We will be taking part in activities such as creating self portraits, marvellous me show and tell, learning about the members of our families and developing our skills in self care.

We will also be learning independence skills. This half term we are focusing on how to find our own peg and put our coats on by ourselves

Super Duper You!

We continue our learning this week by exploring our emotions and learning how to look after our bodies!

We have been talking about how we feel today and which events make us feel a certain way.

Our bodies are super duper and its SUPER important to look after them. This week we have been learning about how to keep our bodies clean!

In phonics we went on a listening walk this week! It was a very windy day, hold on to your ears everyone!

We have been talking about emotions this week using our story. We compared how we feel to how the characters in the story feel by putting the childrens  'mini me' on the emotion that best suited them.

Our number rhyme of the week is '12345 once I caught a fish alive'

Elmer Week!

This week we are learning about what makes us unique just like Elmer!

We have been making our very own patchwork elephants and enjoyed a circle time where we discussed the things we are good at. Elmer is good at telling jokes! The children in nursery are very good at sharing and tidying up!

We're very good at sorting too!

This week we have been learning the number rhyme '5 little elephants'

Look back with pride and forward with confidence
