Here at Bilsthorpe FHA we are passionate about ensuring every child has the best start to their school journey. Our children will be exposed to a range of activities and learning experiences to enhance their development and curiosity within the world around them. We are limitless learners with investigation, and exploration at the heart of our learning through the curiosity approach. We work hard to promote independence with our children by providing them with open ended experiences to engage with activities however they wish. We strive to make learning memorable, engaging and purposeful where the children have endless opportunities to achieve and succeed.
What is the best way for us to be happy?
Key Driver: Performing Arts
Key Concepts:
Empathetic understanding, interpretation, equality and problem solving, cause and consequence
This term our project question is: "What is the best way for us to be happy?". We will be thinking about what really makes us happy, how and why. We will be learning about 'The wonderful wild' which entails understanding about different animals and where they live. We will also be learning about 'The seaside', which entails understanding about what happens at the seaside. We will be exploring both of these focuses through the use of Performing Arts; Music, Art and Drama. We will be thinking about how we can communicate our ideas and thoughts through art, demonstrate our ideas and thoughts through drama and perform our thoughts and ideas through music.
Marvellous Me!
This term our project question is: "What exactly makes you, you?". We will be exploring who we are as individuals, who our families are, and how to take care of ourselves. We will be taking part in activities such as creating self portraits, marvellous me show and tell, learning about the members of our families and developing our skills in self care.
We will also be learning independence skills. This half term we are focusing on how to find our own peg and put our coats on by ourselves.
