  • Flying High Partnership Awards 2025

    Published 09/07/25

We are incredibly proud of all our children. Every day, they bring a wide range of talents, values, and qualities into school that never fail to amaze us — from their creativity and kindness to their leadership and teamwork.

Each year, we celebrate this by inviting our children to nominate their peers who have made a meaningful impact in different areas such as sports, the arts, community service, and the environment.

What better way to honour these contributions than through the Trust Awards — a special recognition of the difference our children make in our school and beyond.

Well done to all our nominees and winners — and to every child who continues to inspire us every day🌟🀩πŸ₯³

  • Pretty Muddy 2025

    Published 11/05/25

    πŸ’–Team Bilsthorpe - Pretty Muddy 2025πŸ’–
The inspiration for this race is Mrs Pitts’s cousin Hazel - absolute legend, will do anything for anybody, always has a smile on her face and is genuinely one-in-a-million. After finding out she had cancer in April 2023, she went through 6 months of intensive chemo, 2 lots of surgery and 15 rounds of radiotherapy. All whilst bringing up two very young girls. In September 2024, she got the all-clear but sadly after feeling unwell and having more tests in March, she found out this month that the cancer is back and it's terminal. She's 39, has a husband a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old. It's heartbreaking.

Karen an amazing and much-loved member of staff at Bilsthorpe Flying High Academy, has also been given a similar diagnosis - stage 4 breast cancer which is treatable but incurable.

There are many other personal stories close to the hearts of staff at Bilsthorpe linked to this horrible disease. Doing this race won't change the situation for Hazel or Karen but it's one small way that as school team we are trying to help. Any donations are greatly appreciated.
