The children had a fantastic day getting a little taste of the Punjab from our Bhangra workshop. Our leader, Vijay broke the dance into manageable chunks before helping us put it altogether into a brilliant Bhangra dance. The children learnt about the origins of the dance and its significance within the Indian culture.
Yesterday our Pre-school, F1 and F2 children participated in their annual sports day. It was a fabulous event, the children had smiles on their faces, and it was great to see so many parents there to support. Thank you to Miss Felton for organising the event.
The children in Year 6 visited Vicars Water to take part in the '999' emergency awareness event. During the visit, they learnt all about fire safety, water safety, recycling, first aid, car safety and even participated in some role playing with the police.
This morning marked the first of our family breakfasts to celebrate the special people in our children lives.
Year 5 and 6 children participated in the lighthouse project this week. They were great at stitching and demonstrated excellent patience when threading the needles. These felt circles will be used to form part of the lighthouse.
We have an exciting opportunity for a CLASS TEACHER, SCHOOL BUSINESS LEAD and LUNCHTIME PLAYLEADER!
Well done to all our reading prize winners who have read double the amount expected of them this half-term - Go Team Bilsthorpe!
What a great morning the children have had. The children that reached 24 reads this half-term enjoyed a morning in our Forest Schools area. The children used the open fire to toast marshmallows and create their very own s'mores. The next half term treat will be discussed with the children and announced on our return to school. Keep up with the reading team as every read counts (even over half-term)
This week Year 6 visited Walesby Forest for their residential. The children took part in a range of team building activities such as crate stacking, archery, tomahawk throwing and even climbed to the top of the huge climbing wall. Lots of happy children and lots of memories made.
This afternoon, F2 visited the art room to recreate a piece of artwork in the style of Kandinsky. I wonder if any of the children can remember the name of the famous piece of artwork?

Team Bilsthorpe, you have got this! You have all worked extremely hard and now is your chance to dream big and aim high!
