Guess who won the scarecrow competition at Maxeys Farm Shop..... we did! Super job Team Bilsthorpe! A huge well done to Miss Benger and the forest school club for creating a fabulous scarecrow inspired by the olympics.
The whole school gathered around our remembrance memorial garden today to pay our respects. Reverend Margaret and Mr Martwich delivered the ceremony and spoke about why it is special to remember on this date each year.
Year 6 have been working hard writing and performing remembrance poetry as well as learning a poem in makaton ready to perform at our rememberance service on Monday!

Today Team Bilsthorpe had an awesome day based around aspiration. The children & grown ups were invited into school dressed as something/someone they aspire to be. Throughout the day the children visited different classrooms to experience different job roles:

A huge well done to our golden ticket winners for this half-term. These children have read double the amount of reads and received a book and a bookmark to celebrate in today's assembly.

Year 6 enjoyed a trip to the library this week. They were very keen to borrow books by Ross Montgomery after a virtual author visit! They borrowed a mixture of fiction and non-fiction texts and had some excellent discussions about genres.
Year 6 enjoyed experiencing life on the front line during World War 2 and using the experience to write some amazing letters! We will share some of the letters when we have edited and published them. Laugh, Learn & Grow
