Pre-school - Oliver Class

Welcome to Pre-School

Jamie Oliver is our class name for this year.

We can cook too!

Bilsthorpe Flying High Pre-School opened on the 23rd of February 2016. This is a new and exciting adventure. The first provision for 2 year olds for both the school and the Academy. For 2 year olds we offer both paid places and free provision. Currently we have twelve children on role, providing 15 hours per week, and a waiting list is in place for 2017 starters.

Pre-School is a wonderful time for children. During our Pre-School sessions children learn a range of skills through play. These include sharing with friends, developing Gross and fine motor skills, Language development and learning about the world around them by getting messy outside!

During each session the children have the opportunity to explore the environment through creative play. This allows children to choose for themselves what they would like to do. We have activities available every day such as: playdough, sand tray, painting/sticking, home corner, construction bricks and small world. All these activities help settle the children. The children are also encouraged to help themselves to the resources available in order for them to develop their own learning. All the adults in pre-school sit at the childrens level on the floor, or at the activity tables, and the reading corner in order to provide positive interactive play. We feel our unit has a Home from Home feeling about it that is friendly and safe for all our families.
